Chris & Yalee Thai the Knot

Our Ordinary Beginning

We crossed paths in the most ordinary of places, but something extraordinary happened.

Our Ordinary
Beginning

We crossed paths in the most ordinary of places, but something extraordinary happened.

Our New Zealand trip was supposed to be just a casual snowboarding getaway with a group of friends. But after that trip, something shifted—the spark between us became impossible to ignore. Everyone around us saw it first, of course. Our friends were absolutely convinced there was something going on between us long before we had a clue (classic us).

A shared laugh turned into late-night conversations, and before we knew it, we were deep in discussions about everything from pizza toppings to life goals. Then came the Blue Mountains trip, and well… that’s when things turned full rom-com. Somewhere between the misty hikes and bad road trip snacks, our fate was sealed.

Fast forward just one month, and Yalee moved in with Chris— simply because she couldn’t get enough of him (and maybe his cooking…or maybe she was just in love).

From secret dates (don’t ask how many) to unforgettable adventures and those quiet moments where we realized we’d never want to be anywhere else, we discovered a bond built on trust, laughter, and a shared love for spontaneous road trips.

The Journey
Together

Then came the part no one expected—two years of lockdown. COVID changed the world, but for us, it became a time to slow down and truly lean into each other. From experimenting with new recipes (some edible, some… not so much), getting a little too tipsy on weeknights, to dancing like no one was watching in our tiny apartment—we found joy, laughter, and comfort in the chaos.

As the world reopened, we stepped out together—not just as partners in love, but in life. We became travel buddies, foodies, conversation-starters with strangers, and professional laugh-till-you-cry companions. From street food stalls to hidden beaches, we collected stories, flavours, and sunburns along the way.

Somewhere in between the boarding passes and belly laughs, we started building dreams together—businesses, ideas (Chris has a lot), and a future. Through hustle and heart, we found a deeper kind of love, the kind that feels like home even when you’re on the other side of the world.

Of course, we’re not perfect. We fight. We broke up once (for about two seconds). But we always—always—find our way back to each other.

Through the thick and thin, the wins and the wobbles, the loud days and the quiet ones—we are one. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now, after a journey full of memories, milestones, and way too many inside jokes and wasted nights, we’re ready to begin the next chapter—together, forever (and yes, still laughing).

Probably Cry a Little

Stay Fancy, Friends

Don’t want to risk partying too hard and forgetting where you’re staying? We’ve got you covered. Check out our hand-picked list of nearby hotels—ranging from comfy to “treat yourself”—all just a short walk from the party.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Getting Around

To join us in paradise, you’ll first need to fly into Bangkok—then hop on a short 1-hour flight with Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui (they’re the only airline that makes this island hop, so book early!). Countries like Singapore does a direct flight – please check!

Feeling adventurous? You can take the scenic land route from Bangkok—it’s about 13 hours by car and ferry.

Once you’ve touched down in Koh Samui, getting where you need to go is a breeze
(and often quite scenic!).

Private Taxis

Private taxis are readily available at the airport or book in advance through samuraiairportonline or klook

Grab

Think Uber, but often even better. Just download the app—it’s super easy to use and a convenient way to get around.

Hotel Transfers

Many hotels offer transfers—just be sure to check in advance when booking

Motorbike / Scooter

Motorbike or Scooter rentals

Songthaew

Public transport to get around Koh Samui. Stand on a roadside (the busier, the better) and flag one down. State your destination and agree on the price first. Then hop in the back. When you want to get off, ring the bell inside. He’ll pull over, you’ll then pay (in correct change!), and off you go.

Most likely 50 Baht for Thais and about 150 Baht for foreigners

Wishing Well

Your presence at our wedding is truly the best gift we could ask for, and we’re genuinely grateful to have you celebrate with us. That said, if you feel inclined to give something more, we will have a gift registry available at the wedding. Any contribution you choose to make toward this exciting new chapter in our lives would be received with heartfelt appreciation.

RSVP

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Please let us know if you’ll be joining us by filling out the form below. Dancing shoes optional—but highly encouraged.

A Note of Thanks

We’re so grateful you’re here—on this site, in our lives, and (hopefully!) at our wedding.

Planning this celebration of love, laughter, and a little chaos wouldn’t mean nearly as much without the incredible family and friends who’ve supported us along the way. Whether you’re traveling near or far, sending good vibes, or dancing with us under the stars, your presence is a gift we’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to celebrate with you, cry happy tears with you, and make memories we’ll talk about for years to come.

With love,
Chris & Yalee
